It was a year ago when it took all my courage to start painting. Well, here I am - completely self-taught and self-judged. It's been a wild tumble of emotions, disbelief and a ton of complexes. I would love to have lessons, a mentor to guide my hand - alas, right now I've got just what I've got - myself and a few inspirational sources online. Webcomics.
Why those? I have always been mesmerized by stories and storytelling, by dreams and dreamers, being one myself. It was like discovering a whole new world - finding that there is such a glorious thing as webcomics available for free reading! The worlds of others, free to see, to feel... In man

Fear

Nine months ago, I picked up a brush and started painting - out of fear. A fear of not doing what I want, a fear of not being good enough, a fear of voices from the past - you're doing it wrong. You CAN'T do that. It was an act of bravery, picking up that brush and creating my first awkward painting. It was a deer-person, standing amidst trees and staring at me with judgement. You won't believe how much courage this simple act required!
Right now, I'm still doing what I fear - for example, drawing animal legs at movement. I CAN do it. Nobody ever again will be able to tell me what I can or cannot do, if I could overcome my fear of drawing an
